Modular technology or prefabrication – what to choose?
Although it seems that modular and prefabricated houses assembled into one whole are the same, there are some differences between the two technologies. Both technologies are made from elements connected together in a factory – these are entire sections of the building, which are later transported and connected in the target location.
The second method, however, involves assembling a given object on the construction site from previously prepared wall and ceiling components. In the case of modular technology, the whole thing is created in a factory and the finished product is brought to the designated location. So which of the methods of implementing a housing investment should you choose?
Modular homes
They are largely constructed from prefabricated elements, and their distinguishing feature is the repeatability of the basic module unit. Most of the work is therefore done in the factory, where individual elements can be almost completely finished. This technology allows for the connection of finished elements also vertically, thanks to which even multi-story year-round facilities can be created. When designing individual modules, those that combine similar dimensions are used, but may differ in detail or function.
At the same time, modular technology has more limitations. First of all, the number of projects to choose from is very limited by the schematic construction. It is not possible to introduce more developmental elements. Therefore, this solution is recommended for people who want to build a holiday home.
Prefabricated houses
This type of construction is based on the assembly of objects using elements of different structures. In other words, these are ready-made elements: foundations, walls and roof trusses. In this case, all the components of the house are manufactured in the factory, and only assembly takes place on the construction site. Quick connection of all the elements using the latest technology significantly shortens the time and allows you to enjoy the finished building. On site, you can adapt the interior of the house to your needs.
The main advantage of prefabricated houses is the fact that their structures are not limited to a few permanent designs and the customer can choose a building that meets their needs. Available house designs can be viewed at Projects.
Which year-round house assembly option should I choose?
Both technologies have many things in common, in particular the ability to build houses regardless of the season and weather conditions. In turn, assembly at the target location usually takes several days, and is preceded by a several-week period during which the individual elements are manufactured. The difference between the mentioned methods concerns the finishing of the house itself. In addition, modular buildings have a limited choice of designs without the possibility of modification. Prefabricated houses are a better solution in terms of the diversity of designs and the ability to adjust the functional layout of the building to the individual needs of users.
